Ottawa's murals and street art change constantly, and most of it is never written down. Ottawalls started as a studio project to fix that: a bilingual public archive and map of street art across Ottawa and Gatineau, built with no client and no budget.

It has since been adopted across the city. Ottawa Tourism's urban-arts guide embeds the map for planning art crawls, and the Chinatown, Glebe, Centretown and Wellington West BIAs embed it on their own sites. One archive feeds all of them, and we keep it running.

It is also embedded on Apt613 through a media partnership, where the Malovey Labs team publishes a series of artist interviews.

CBC's This is Ottawa used Ottawalls as the primary resource for an episode on the city's vanishing street art, built around a mural bike ride we led. The Kitchissippi Times featured it in its August 2026 issue.

  • The Ottawalls Journal & Stories page: a list of dated articles, including a community spotlight, self-guided mural walks in the Glebe and Chinatown, and a mural bike ride with CBC’s This is Ottawa.
A journal of artist interviews, neighbourhood guides and walking tours.
  • The Ottawalls Artist Index: a search box above a grid of artist cards, each named over a faded image of their work.
An artist index for the people behind the paint.
  • An Ottawalls mural page on a phone: a photo of the mural A River’s Memory, with its artists, year, neighbourhood and status below.
Every mural gets its own page, in English and French.
