Since 2008, Artengine's Artlist has carried Ottawa's independent cultural listings to roughly 3,000 subscribers: openings, screenings, performances, calls for work. Everything lived in a single flat MySQL table behind a PHP form, searchable by nobody.
Malovey Labs rebuilt it as a queryable public archive. Sixteen thousand postings now sit in a relational Postgres database on Supabase, cleaned, reconciled and structured: events linked to venues, venues to neighbourhoods, disciplines separated from posting types. Eighteen years of the region's cultural record can be asked questions for the first time.
